o que é as scooters/biclas eléctricas têm?

Não faltam novidades neste campo das scooters eléctricas ou bicicletas com ajuda (um pequeno motor eléctrico). Aqui vão alguma encontradas nos últimos tempos:

'Silent' Electric Scooter Revolution Quietly Taking Over European Cities
SYNOPSIS: Vectrix sold 1,184 bikes to dealers, representing an increase of 156 per cent over the previous financial year.

Electric bikes 'silently' taking over the city
Hamburg - The familiar cluttering sound of motorbike scooters that has reigned in southern European for more than a century may be ending as an electric scooter silently takes over the streets. Until a few years ago, the electric scooter was considered an inventors' joke with a cumbersome heavyweight battery pack that made it about as manoeuvrable as a loaded Bedford truck. But the latest battery-driven scooters and bikes can hardly be distinguished from their petrol-driven cousins with the new battery technology making it possible to hide the battery pack in the bodywork, giving it the same optimal weight distribution as in conventional bikes.

Alternative transportation: Scooters
High fuel prices and increased environmental awareness have led to an increase in the use of scooters and motorcycles for everyday transportation. The exceptional fuel economy and low price of the scooters on the market today makes them an attractive alternative to a car for many people. People in other parts of the world have known this for years, particularly in densely packed urban European cities.

The next small thing in public transport: Fold-up electric scooters

Electric Bicycles, Scooters, and Mini Cars for a Cleaner World
The future of current transportation systems is in jeopardy, with rising fuel costs, dwindling oil supplies, traffic congestion in cities, and more. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), researchers are working to find alternatives to the cars and trucks people have been using. Some options people are exploring are to promote the use of bicycles instead of cars or to introduce small, energy-efficient vehicles to city streets. With new technologies including motorized wheels for bicycles, stackable cars, and special scooters invented as part of the SmartCities project, giving up traditional vehicles might be easier than ever before.
