mourinho global, mourinho: the special one

Mourinho hopes for swift return
Jose Mourinho has hinted he hopes to make a swift return to management after his shock departure from Chelsea.
Mourinho, 44, has been replaced at Stamford Bridge by director of football Avram Grant and has now agreed a compensation package with Chelsea.
And he declared he wants to make a quick comeback as he said: "I am waiting for the phone calls. I want to enjoy my life but I want to work."
Mourinho has already been linked with several top posts abroad.

Mourinho has been linked with Real Madrid and Inter Milan in the past, and was quickly put in the frame as a possible contender to replace Martin Jol at Spurs after completing the formalities of his departure from Stamford Bridge.
But Jol, who saw pressure on his position lifted by a 6-1 win against Anorthosis Famagusta in the Uefa Cup first round first leg at White Hart Lane, delivered a glowing tribute to Mourinho.
He said: "He's a great man and great manager. He thought he was 'The Special One' and in his case it was probably true.
"I always liked to watch him. He's a character and sadly he's not there any more. Hopefully he stays in England, but if not all credit to him because he's given the Chelsea supporters a lot of joy."

Mourinho exit could spark exodus
Chelsea could face a fight to keep hold of several of their best players after the departure of Jose Mourinho.
Reports are rife that many of the club's highest profile players now want to follow him out of Chelsea.
Defender Ricardo Carvalho said: "It is a very sad day for me and the team. I had a big offer from Real Madrid but I stayed at Chelsea because of Mourinho."
And summer signing Florent Malouda added: "I joined Chelsea because of my first meeting with Mourinho." Several reports claim striker Didier Drogba is "furious and upset" at the parting of the ways between Chelsea and their charismatic Portuguese coach.

Reports elsewhere claim Michael Essien and Paulo Ferreira, both brought to Chelsea by Mourinho, may also be mulling over whether to stay at the club.
A huge question mark will also hang over the future of England midfield man Frank Lampard, who has already put talks on a new contract on hold and was regarded as one of Mourinho's most trusted lieutenants in the dressing room.

Ferguson pays tribute to Mourinho
Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Jose Mourinho's departure from Chelsea is a "disappointment" for the game of football.
United host Chelsea this Sunday at Old Trafford and Ferguson said he would miss the "personal challenge" he used to enjoy between himself and Mourinho.
"He was terrific for football and terrific for Chelsea," said Ferguson.
"He brought something fresh and new to our game and I enjoyed the competition with him - I wish him well."

Ferguson and Mourinho first went head-to-head when the Portuguese masterminded Porto's surprise victory over Man Utd in 2004's Champions League.
Since then the pair have enjoyed a very competitive relationship but one that had an underlying level of respect.
"He [Mourinho] enjoyed unparalleled success there, without question," said Ferguson.
