O terror de Michael Phelps: Ian Thorpe. O australiano retirou-se da competição em 2006 e com apenas 25 anos, por problemas físicos.

Swimming: Ian Thorpe predicts Michael Phelps will fall short of goal to win eight golds
Ian Thorpe, the only swimmer of the modern era seriously to match Michael Phelps' talent and medal-winning hunger, thinks the American will "wow the world with his incredible ability" but fall short of the eight gold medals he is aiming for in Beijing. The 'Thorpedo', who once won seven gold medals in a world championship, and claimed three golds at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, has always insisted it is impossible to win eight in the heightened atmosphere of Olympic competition and he was happy to repeat that assertion here, despite lavishing praise on Phelps. In the past, Phelps has stuck cuttings of Thorpe's scepticism on his locker at training, but he can have few qualms about the Australian's comments yesterday.

Michael Phelps Tries to Lure Ian Thorpe Out of Retirement Michael Phelps is currently in China right now with some American teammates in order to promote the Special Olympics in Shanghai. While there, the champion is at the center of media attention. Questioned about nearly everything to do with swimming (and outside of swimming for that matter) Phelps sounded off on some pressing issues in the sport now: morning finals, doping, and Ian Thorpe’s retirement to name a few. Most notably, however, is Phelps’ wish that Ian Thorpe come out of retirement so that they could race at the 2008 Olympics. Phelps told reporters at a Press Conference that Ian Thorpe is “a remarkable athlete. With the amount of talent he has for the sport of swimming he can do anything he wants. He’s proven how dominant he can be in the freestyle world. If he wants to start training now and get ready for the Olympics now, I definitely wouldn’t put it past him,” then added, “I think he still has a lot in him and you could definitely see him swim fast again.”

Sobre a oxallys e o Sr. Miguel Ralão Duarte só lhe quero dizer que todos temos direito a falhar e existem alguns comentários que me parecem desnecessarios!
